Directions

Leave the M5 at junction 30 and at the roundabout take the 1st exit signposted Sidmouth. At the next roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A3052. On entering the village of Newton Poppleford, at the roundabout turn right signed Budleigh Salterton. Continue past the entrance to Bicton Park and through the village of Colaton Raleigh and after approximately 1 mile, at the crossroads, turn left into Otterton. Continue through the village on Fore Street and the house can be found on the left hand side.

Situation

Otterton is a delightful and historic village nestling in the beautiful East Devon countryside between Sidmouth and Budleigh Salterton. The world heritage Jurassic coastline lies within half mile of the village and the nature reserve at the mouth of the River Otter, famous for its wide variety of bird life, is around a mile away. The award-winning Otterton Mill restaurant and craft centre is located in the village. Local facilities include a primary school, church, village hall and public house. There is a regular bus service from the village to Sidmouth, Budleigh Salterton and Exmouth. Budleigh Salterton is approximately 3 miles distant and the city of Exeter lies approximately 12 miles from the village, with access to the M5 and airport being around 2 miles closer.

Description

This charming double fronted farmhouse is set back from the road in the heart of the village, with parking to the rear. An entrance hall leads you through to a lovely living room with a wood burner with inset carved surround and recessed book cases either side. On the other side of the hallway is a cosy sitting room or study. At the end of the entrance hall is a good size dining room (originally the milking parlour) with ample space for a dining table and six chairs. The kitchen is located off the dining room and is fitted with a range of units with space for a fridge freezer and a kitchen table. A useful separate utility room is plumbed with space for a washer dryer with access to a separate W/C. A covered storage area is located outside the utility room. Upstairs are four good size bedrooms and a family bathroom with the master bedroom en suite. Outside there is a delightful wisteria clad west facing garden which is mainly laid to lawn. A double garage is located outside the rear gate.
