Situation

Ford House occupies a most pleasant situation in the centre of Broadclyst and enjoys a westerly aspect.
The village has a good range of amenities to include a post office/village store, two public houses, an excellent Indian restaurant, thriving village hall, medical centre, hairdresser, church, recreation ground, bowling green and sports centre, along with well-regarded primary and secondary schools.
Broadclyst is just over 5 miles from the centre of the Cathedral city of Exeter, which offers good private and public schools, University, excellent restaurants and good shopping in Princesshay, as well as a mainline railway station offering a link to London Paddington in just over 2 hours. There is a regular bus service to Exeter and Tiverton and junctions to major road networks are also within easy reach.

Description

Ford House is a most attractive property with the main house thought to date from around 1830 and the rear wing is probably earlier, around the 17th - 18th Century. It has rendered and colour washed elevations under a hipped slate roof, with some slate elevations to the rear. It boasts well-proportioned reception rooms and bedrooms, with many original features including moulded cornices, fireplaces and window shutters. Externally it has a well-proportioned front elevation, true to its Georgian origins.

To the side is a stable block comprising a two stall stable, adjoining coach house and tack room with hayloft over. To the rear is a delightful walled garden. Ford House, apart from being very attractive, provides a spacious Grade II Listed family home.
