Situation

Clyst Heath is situated on the eastern outskirts of Exeter and is made up of mainly modern properties, although in the centre of the development the former Grade II listed Digby Hospital has been converted into interesting townhouses and apartments. Clyst Heath remains very popular due to its combination of easy access to the city centre and the M5 motorway, coupled with its comprehensive selection of shopping facilities, including a Tesco's superstore, David Lloyd Leisure Club and Exeter Chiefs ground at Sandy Park. There are frequent bus services into Exeter and Exeter bus station (including a Park & Ride service to the Royal Devon & Exeter hospital) and a railway line servicing Exmouth to Barnstaple via Exeter Central. Clyst Heath has a primary school as well as a day care nursery in the converted chapel.

VENDORS COMMENTS Couper Meadows has provided a wonderful family home since it was built in 1999. The parkland in front of the property has been a joy, due to the beautiful view and an open space for our children to play. The parkland is owned and maintained by Exeter City Council, there is no maintenance charge for us to pay, and the Council have determined no future building can take place on this site as the Victorian former-Digby Hospital building must be viewable in its entirety from the parkland.

The gardens are home to 27 Japanese Acers, easily trimmed every few years to keep them shrub size. Their reputation for breath-taking autumnal colour, is in my view, matched by their spring foliage. The other plants have been chosen to provide contrast in colour and leaf form. Together with the back-drop of the parkland the gardens have been a great pleasure. Large enough for the children to play, small enough to maintain with ease.
