Marldon is approximately 5 miles between the characterful market town of Totnes, the fishing port at Brixham and the larger town of Newton Abbot. It is also in easy access of Paignton, just under 3 miles away and Torquay 4.5 miles away, both with a mainline railway station. Marldon is a delightful village full of history and character with two good pubs, 2 village shops and post office, hairdressers, a primary school, a beautiful church and a very active community hall hosting various clubs. Plenty of countrywide walks around the area right on the doorstep.
Mainline railway stations can be found at Totnes and Newton Abbot and there is a regular bus route leading to all towns and shopping districts. The newly improved South Devon highway has improved the commute to Exeter, which is approximately 22 miles to the North.
From the front this property looks like a modest dormer bungalow but once you step inside you soon begin to realise that it offers so much more space than first thought. The current owners who have had a very happy 36 years there have raised the original roof to add an additional storey. So now they have a spacious kitchen/dining room which has large sliding doors leading out onto the beautiful garden, a handy utility/boot room, a generous sitting room with inset log burner and large bay window. You'll also find on the ground floor two bedrooms and a family bathroom.
On the first floor you will find three further bedrooms and a wc. All these rooms take in wonderful far reaching views over Torbay and Dartmoor.
The property has a private driveway providing parking for 2/3 cars and leads to a detached single garage. The front garden is attractive and mainly lawn and raised flowerbeds. The rear garden really is a delight with a large lawn, greenhouse, raised vegetable beds and various mature fruit trees. The garden is wonderfully private and enjoys the sun from early morning right through to the sun set. You can also enjoy the far reaching Dartmoor views from the garden too.
