Ethics Matter: Why Wilkinson Grant & Co Does Things Differently

Like many in the industry, we watched Monday night’s BBC Panorama programme with concern — but not surprise. It exposed practices by some of the biggest national estate agency groups that mislead clients and undermine trust:

  • Conditional selling — pressuring buyers and sellers to use “associated services” (like mortgages or conveyancers) in order to progress a deal.

  • Overvaluing properties to win instructions, only to recommend price reductions later.

  • Incentivising staff based on referrals and price drops, rather than client success.

At Wilkinson Grant & Co, we have never and will never operate this way. We believe clients deserve more than slick sales tactics. They deserve honesty, transparency, and results they can trust. That’s why:

  • We do not earn commission from mortgage or conveyancing referrals.

  • We do not overvalue properties to win business.
